António Bruno Mendes Teixeira (born 8 October 1982 in Porto) is a Portuguese footballer who plays for Amarante F.C. as a forward.

Football career

Teixeira never played in higher than the third division in his country, his first club being Vilanovense F.C. in precisely that level. In the 2005 summer, he signed for Forest Green Rovers in England following an impressive trial, being recommended to manager Gary Owers by Yeovil Town boss Gary Johnson.

Teixeira spent one season with Forest Green, being a firm fan favourite at The Lawn Ground. His five goals for the Gloucestershire side included one from 35 yards against Morecambe (1–0 home win),[1] and a vital one against Stevenage Borough to keep the Rovers in the Conference National on the last day of the campaign.[2]

Teixeira was offered a new contract by the club in early May 2006,[3][4] but he ultimately rejected the deal and was released, returning to Portugal and its lower leagues, and helping former club Leça F.C. promote from the fourth level, repeating the feat in 2011 with Amarante F.C. with a career-best 17 goals.
